Boy Falls During Special Olympics Race, His Friend Does Something Incredible

I love uplifting, inspirational stories like this one.

From 13WHAM:

It’s an unbreakable bond: A unique friendship between two teenagers from Victor. It was on display during a Special Olympics event this past weekend.

You can often find Max and Marvin side-by-side. The now 14-year-olds met in grade school.

“Max just loves Marvin; he talks about him all the time,” said Diane Pogoda, Max’s mother.

Max has Fragile X Syndrome which effects his intellect. Marvin is on the Autism spectrum.

Last weekend, the two competed in the Special Olympics at North Rose-Wolcott High School. They’d done it before, but this was their first ever event together. It was the 50 meter dash.

The whistle blew and off they went then Max noticed Marvin was trailing behind.

They finished the race together, hand-in-hand, with Max encouraging Marvin down the stretch.

What are friends for, right?

Awesome!
